WebSpeaker Product Update: June 2026
Product update: June 2026
This is a retrospective summary of what we implemented during June 2026.
Widget stats dashboard
Once the widget was live on a site, you had little visibility into how it was actually being used day to day. There was no dedicated place to see traffic or engagement over time, so it was hard to tell whether visitors were finding and using the chat widget at all. In June we added a widget stats dashboard, giving you a dedicated view of widget usage instead of leaving it invisible. The benefit is a clear picture of how your widget is being used, without having to guess. You can see how this fits into day-to-day support work on our support use case page.
Draggable and resizable chat widget
The desktop chat window used to sit in a fixed spot and a fixed size, which was a problem if it happened to cover something on the page you needed to read, or if you simply wanted more room to work with. In June we made the chat window draggable by its header and resizable through a dedicated resize handle, so it can be moved and resized like a regular window. The benefit is that visitors can reposition and resize the chat window to fit their own screen and what else they are looking at, instead of working around wherever it happens to land.
Mobile conversation browsing
Reviewing conversations from a phone was awkward, since conversation browsing in the management UI was built with a desktop screen in mind. That made it hard to check in on chats when you were away from your computer. We added mobile support for browsing conversations in the management UI, so the same conversation list and detail views work properly on a phone screen. The benefit is that you can review chats from your phone whenever you need to, without waiting until you are back at a desk.
Live-support handoff notifications
When a conversation was handed off to a person, there was no reliable signal telling the right agent that a visitor was now waiting for them, which risked handoffs sitting unnoticed. In June we added handoff notifications as part of a broader round of improvements to support escalation. The benefit is that agents are notified as soon as a conversation is handed off, so visitors who need a person get picked up promptly instead of waiting in silence.
Together, June’s work gives you visibility into how your widget is actually used, lets visitors fit the chat window to their own screen, makes it possible to review conversations from a phone, and makes sure handoffs to a person get noticed right away. We will keep sharing what we build, month by month.
